  • Reminder: COVID Symptoms

    Mon 14 Jun 2021

    Important Reminder:

If any member of your household starts to display any one of the 3 COVID symptoms, the entire household MUST isolate for 10 days and a PCR test booked. Household isolation must continue for 10 days or until a negative test result is received.

LFT tests should not be used on primary-school children. If an adult displays symptoms, you must have a PCR test and NOT use an LFT test.

    Thank you for your support.

  • Warm Weather

    Mon 14 Jun 2021

It is forecast that we will be experiencing some lovely warm weather this week, therefore please ensure your child has sun-cream applied before school and has a full water bottle on arrival.

During the day water bottles are topped up and sun-cream is reapplied, as each year group has a supply. We would also recommend that each child brings a named sunhat into school, that can be kept in their bags and worn when outside.

    Thank you

  • Internet and Online Safety

    Wed 05 May 2021

With the return to school, coupled with ever-growing online activity including expanding social media platforms, we want to remind everyone about the importance of staying safe online.

Whilst being able to connect with others online comes with its benefits it also comes with increased risks, if a child is using the internet unsupervised.  It is recommended that you review your safety and security settings at home, to ensure that your child is safe online, as well as, managing the amount of time your child spends online.  It is important that you raise awareness about how to stay safe online at home, as this will complement what the school teaches the children in school with regards to online safety.  We teach about online safety through our computing and PDL curriculum, as well as, responding to questions and concerns as they arise, as part of our day-to-day safeguarding policies and practices.

It is important that you have conversations with your child/ren at home about online activities and the safety measures they need to take.

On our website there is a section regarding online safety using the link below, which has some key documents and weblinks to use:

  • Tuck Shop Returns!

    Fri 30 Apr 2021

We are pleased to report that as of Tuesday 4th May the Tuck Shop will be returning to the Key Stage 2 playground at morning breaktime. Please see the attached poster for the options and prices, please note that at this time the children must bring the exact money as change cannot be provided.

The children should bring their money into school in a small purse or sealed envelope, this should be passed to the class teacher at the start of the day for safe keeping.

We hope the children enjoy having the Tuck Shop back.

  • Homework using Seesaw

    Wed 21 Apr 2021

Following previous communications regarding using seesaw to submit homework, please note, moving forward, homework should now only be submitted/uploaded using Seesaw. Only in extreme cases will paper copies be issued.

Homework can be completed in a number of ways:

    • It can be completed directly onto the screen on Seesaw through the app or on a laptop
    • Through a voice-note or audio this can be accessed on Seesaw
    • A short video/audio and uploaded to Seesaw
    • Image of completed learning by taking a photo and uploading it
    • Children can write the answers straight onto paper and upload a video or image of what they have completed.
    • Only if you need to and have availability of a printer, then it can be printed and completed on paper and returned to school in their homework folder. However, where possible, try to upload learning straight onto Seesaw (using the ways above) to limit the amount of paper being used

Any homework uploaded or completed needs to be submitted by Wednesday each week.

Homework will be marked either on Seesaw or, if a paper copy is sent in, marked onto the paper copy.

In Key Stage 2, any child who does not complete their homework by Wednesday, will attend Homework Club each week to complete their homework during the lunchtime (the day may vary across the key stage).

If you have any questions, please see your class teacher.

  • Red Nose Day

    Fri 12 Mar 2021

Red Nose Day is taking place on Friday 19th March and this year it’s never felt more important to have some fun and raise money to support people living incredibly tough lives.

Whilst we would like to support the charity, as we do every year, please can we ask children, this year, NOT to bring in or wear red noses due to the COVID hygiene reason associated with this.

Instead, the Senior Leadership Team will have collection buckets on the school gates, on the morning of Friday 19th March for any donations you may wish to give.

  • Easter Holiday Club - Free Places for Vulnerable/FSM Children

    Mon 08 Mar 2021

The Holiday Club will run in the second week of the Easter Holiday period, week commencing 12th April 2021 from 8:30am-4pm daily, including lunch.

There are 15 FREE places available to children who are classed as vulnerable and/or are entitled to free school meals. If you would like to book one of these free places for your child, please visit www.bookwhen.com/globefitkidsclubs - these places are first come, first served.

All places must be booked by the parent, directly with the kids club via this web page. The school cannot book these places for you.

Attached is a flyer detailing more information about this exciting provision.

  • Parents' Evening - Spring 2021

    Tue 02 Mar 2021

The mid-year Parents' Evening appointments are available to book from 2pm today.

From 2pm, please log onto your ParentMail account and go to the Parents Evening section to book your appointment time. Please only call the school office to book an appointment if you cannot access ParentMail.

As it was in December, this parents' evening will be different to normal, and therefore all parents evening appointments will be conducted via the telephone. Your child's class teacher will telephone you at your allocated appointment time. You appointment will be for a maximum of 10 minutes as we need to run to time in order for the teachers to ensure they complete every appointment booked.

The teachers will attempt to call twice and will have to move onto the next parent appointment if the call is not answered a second time. Teachers will also end the call after the scheduled 10 minutes has ended, even if you were late starting the call.

Please make sure you have noted your appointment time and are available to take the call promptly. Thank you for your ongoing help and support.
