Parents

It is important during these times, that you monitor carefully what your child is accessing online.  Here are some links to website which give parents/carers some advice and guidance about how your child can stay safe online.  

 

Please check the privacy settings and parental controls for online access.  The following links give clear advice and guidance for parents and carers:

  • Think U Know Help your children get the most out of the internet
  • NSPCC Keeping children safe online
  • Childline Play a game to take your mind off difficult things and have some fun. Browse games or select a type of game you'd like to play to support your child's mental health
  • Childline - Calm Zone Breathing exercises, activities, games and videos to help let go of stress for children
  • Cooking on a Bootstrap This link opens up to the chef Jack Monroe who creates tasty meals using what is in your store cupboard and from tinned items. She shares recipes online and on her twitter feed @BootstrapCook and her Instagram feed shows the recipes too. Each day she asks people to share photos of their food items and she will create a recipe for a meal or suggestions of how to serve these items, daily at 5pm.   • Hampshire Education Click on the link for a guide for parents about supporting children with learning from home
  • HIAS English Click on the link and it will take you to the home learning page. Click on the Key Stage for your child (Key Stage 2 5yrs-7yrs, Key Stage 2 7yrs-11yrs). The Hampshire English team have put together a range of English resources to support home learning.
