Welcome to Newtown C of E Primary School. School is now closed for the Summer Holidays. School will reopen to children Years 1-6 on Thursday 3rd September. Our new school website will launch in September 2026. During this transition, some information may be temporarily unavailable. If you can’t find what you need, please contact the school office, who will be happy to help.

Learning Behaviours

Our six Learning Behaviours together with our positive engagement strategy support our ethos values and guide our children towards the desired behaviours and characteristics of effective learning.

 

Class Dojo Points are awarded to children for modelling one of the Learning Behaviours or achieving a class target and the Golden Acorn of the week is awarded each Friday to children who consistently uphold the Learning Behaviours and Ethos Values of the school.  

 

Other positive engagement strategies include:

 

  • Stickers from the Headteacher, Senior Leaders and Class Teachers
  • Mrs Howlett’s Wall of Wonder
  • Attendance incentives including biscuits for the class
  • The Governor Trophy
  • The Golden Broom—awarded for the tidiest class by the Site Manager

  • Breakfast Bonanza
  • Postcards home to celebrate achievments
  • Telephone call to parents
