Administering Medicines in school

We can administer medicines to children if they have been prescribed by a doctor. Please complete an Administration of Medicines form (see below, or ask for one at the school office) and hand in to the school office along with the medication. Please make sure the medication is in it's original packaging with the prescription label on it. We are unable to give any medication to children that is not in it's original packaging.

We understand that there will be times when children may need non prescription medicines such as ibuprofen, paracetamol and calpol. We can administer these only when a form has been completed. These will also have to be provided in the original packaging.

Once the end date has passed for medicines to be administered, the form will be kept in the child's school file.

Any out of date medication will be safely disposed of. It is the parents' responsibility to provide new medication when necessary (for example, inhalers).
