Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our termly Rocksteady concert took place this morning and we were treated to excellent performances of different music genres, which gave the audience a musical experience they would not forget!
The children were confident and showed great resilience, courage and ability. The Rocksteady music sessions and termly concerts add further enrichment and wider learning opportunities for our pupils.
Thank you to Sam who knows how to get the best out of our rockstars; he has helped our pupils to thrive and be more confident and we can see how much progress each of them have made musically.
Well done everyone!

As part of the charity Comic Relief, Red Nose Day is taking place on Friday 18th March 2022.
Newtown C of E Primary School will be raising money on the day for this worthwhile cause. Members of the Senior Leadership Team will be greeting families on the gate, collecting donations in our charity buckets. Children will be able to wear their red noses and red nose day accessories, however children are expected to wear their full school uniform. We kindly ask that each child donates £1 for this good cause.
The School Council will be selling Red Noses on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th March at breaktime in the school library. Red Noses cost £1.50 and all funds will go to Comic Relief. We have a limited supply, so they will be sold on a first come, first sold basis.
If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Year 2 have been creating some lovely collages this week. The children layered paper and other recycled material to create the sea, then collaged lots of wonderful sea creatures.
Well done Year 2!
What a wonderful day we have had! As part of our drive to maintain, promote and engage pupil interest in reading, we have celebrated the 25th Anniversary of World Book day by holding a Where's Wally? extravaganza!
Children came to school dressed as a character from ‘Where’s Wally?’ or they brought their ‘Where’s Wally?’ decorated potato into school.
Prizes were give in a whole school celebration Collective Worship, for the best dressed and best dressed potato. Oddlaw aka Mr Willis won the best dressed staff member!
Each child was given a World book day £1 voucher and some were exchanged at the pop-up book shop provided by The Book Shop, Lee-on-the-Solent.
Well done everyone. We certainly love to read!
Don't forget we are celebrating World Book Day tomorrow (Thursday 3rd March) with a Where's Wally Extravaganza!
We also have a special World Book Day lunch menu of Chicken Burger or Pizza Roll with Potato or Pasta Salad, Mixed Salad and Coleslaw, followed by Toffee Apple Sponge! Jacket Potatoes will be a further option as well.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in your Where's Wally costumes or with your Where's Wally decorated potatoes!
