  • Forthcoming Initiatives

    Tue 18 Sep 2018

We are delighted to announce two new initiatives that Newtown C of E Primary School will be involved in:

Walktober will take place throughout the month of October. The pupils and staff will be walking whatever the weather is this October as part of International Walking Month. Hampshire County Council's My Journey team is encouraging the public and schools to walk whatever the weather. Just because it’s cold or raining, doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy walking, scooting or cycling to school or being active outdoors during the school day. We will simply put on a coat and wellies, grab an umbrella or hat and carry on enjoying the great outdoors!

Each pupil will receive a participating record sheet with stickers and we hope as many families will join in as possible.

We will also be taking part in Time to Shine Day on Friday 23rd November to promote the Be Bright, Be Seen initiatives promoted by the Hampshire Road Safety Team. We will be having a 'be bright, be seen' non school uniform day to highlight the importance of being seen to traffic now the darker mornings and evenings are here. Further information will follow.

  • Headteacher's Lunch

    Tue 18 Sep 2018

Our Headteacher's Luncheons are back in full swing! Every Tuesday, Mrs Howlett and Miss Andrews will meet with invited pupils over lunch to feedback any ideas and points of view the children have to make the school an even better place.

As you can see the children are very proud to take part in this and thoroughly enjoy having lunch with Mrs Howlett. The pupil voice of the school is very important to Newtown C of E Primary.
