  • Finalist of BEST SCHOOL, in The News We Can Do It! awards

    We are delighted to announce that we have been nominated for BEST SCHOOL in The News 'We Can Do It Awards' . This award will be judged by a panel and the winner announced at the evening on 3rd December.

     

    In addition, all nominees across all categories have a chance to win the Reader's Choice Award. This is an extra award, and the only category where the public can vote. Please vote for us to win this award, you only have until 11.59pm on November 29th. Here is how you can vote:

     

    READERS CHOICE AWARD: Vote now for the winner of the Readers’ Choice Award! All of our finalists can be voted for and the name with the highest number of votes will be announced as our Readers’ Choice winner during the special awards ceremony.

     

    Voting ends at 11.59 on November 29th. VOTE BY TEXT: Simply text, PEN followed by a space and the word WCDI along with the three digit voting code of the person / group you are voting for to 85100 (eg PEN WCDI 016 ). Voting by text costs £1.50p per vote plus one standard network rate message. Don’t forget the spaces! You can vote as often as you like before the text line closes at 11.59pm Thursday 29th November 2018.

  • BBC Children in Need

    We have had a wonderful day at school, raising over £300 for Children in Need.

     

    We even had a visit from Pudsey himself.

  • Winners of the Eco-Schools Bronze Award

    We are delighted to be able to announce that Newtown C of E Primary School has been awarded the Eco Schools Bronze Award in recognition of the school's achievements in working towards sustainable lifestyles. 

     

    In order to achieve the bronze standard, the Eco club have formed an Eco-Council, taken an Eco Collective Worship, created an action plan that the school will work through, conducted an environmental review of the school, monitor the energy usage of the school and promote recycling to our school community.

     

    A great deal of work has gone into achieving this award and the whole school is extremely proud! Well done Eco Club and the Eco Warriors!

  • Anti-bullying and E-safety week

    It is Anti-Bullying Week and E-Safety Week here at Newtown C of E Primary School.

     

    Don't forget, tonight is the E-Safety Top Tips workshop for parents between 3.15pm-3.30pm. Tea and Coffee will be provided.

     

    Learn about how to keep your children safe online and receive top tips from Miss Radford

  • Stay and Play

    Calling all pre-schoolers, toddlers and parents!

     

    Our weekly Stay and Play session is open tomorrow from 9.15am.

     

    Laptops will be available for you to be able to complete your child's application to join our school in September 2019.

  • Vote for us to win £4000!

    We are delighted to be able to announce that Newtown C of E Primary School's "Newtown Can Cook Project" is a project that Tesco customers can now vote for, to receive up to £4000!

     

    Throughout November and December, each Tesco customer will receive a blue token to vote for a project to receive the grant.

     

    Please can we ask all parents and supporters to vote for Newtown when you shop at Gosport Tesco branches over the next two months, to enable children and the local community to have a kitchen and DT area to be able to learn to cook and access healthy meal ideas!
