Global Neighbourhood

Global Neighbourhood Project

Our school is proud to be working towards the Global Neighbours accreditation, an inspiring programme developed by Christian Aid. This initiative supports schools in embedding global citizenship at the heart of their ethos, helping pupils to understand the wider world and their role within it. Through this journey, we aim to nurture informed, compassionate learners who recognise the importance of fairness, equality and justice.

The Global Neighbours programme encourages children to explore the root causes of poverty and injustice, while empowering them to become “courageous advocates” for positive change. Pupils are given opportunities to think critically about global issues, reflect on their values, and take meaningful action both locally and globally. As a school, we are developing our curriculum, collective worship and wider opportunities to ensure that global awareness and social responsibility are woven throughout school life.

Working towards this award also strengthens key areas of school development, including leadership, teaching and learning, spiritual development, pupil voice and community engagement. It provides a clear framework to guide our practice and helps us to build strong links with our local and global communities.

As we continue on our Global Neighbours journey, we are committed to helping every child understand that they have the power to make a difference. By encouraging empathy, respect and active citizenship, we are preparing our pupils to contribute positively to a more just and sustainable world.
