Arbor

Arbor is the system which records all the data relating to your child, it allows us to communicate with you more efficiently and bring all core school data and workflows into one system. Arbor is a simple, smart and cloud-based MIS (Management Information System), which helps us work faster, smarter and more collaboratively as a school.  Many of the local secondary schools use this system, so some of you may already be familiar with its benefits.

The Arbor App and Parent Portal mean we can keep you informed about your child’s life at school in a much more accessible way. You will be able to log into Arbor to see and update your child’s information, get live updates and make payments or bookings on the go!

The Parent Portal works on Google Chrome (computer or laptop) and you can download the Arbor App from the App Store or Google Play Store on your phone (Android 5.0; iOS 10.0 and upwards).

Upon joining Newtown you must complete a registration form.  Through Arbor and the Parent Portal you are able to do this electronically, saving you time and the need to return a paper form to the school.  The key information you will need to complete is as follows:

  • Country of Birth
  • Ethnicity
  • Nationality
  • Religion
  • Check home address, (amend if required)
  • Family guardians and contacts (please ensure a minimum of 2 contacts are listed, please ensure all adults you wish to be able to collect your child are recorded here)
  • Home language
  • Medical information
  • Dietary information
  • Consents for the following to take place
    • Administratin of first aid
    • Internet Access (permissin for your child to access the internet under close supervision by a member of staff to support curriculum in the classroom.
    • Schol visits (permission to leave the school premises for local visits, for trips and visits further afield, additional permission will be gained)
    • Phto permission (permission to photograph or video your child carrying out activities within school.  Phtographs may be published on promotional materials, the school website, on the school social media (such as facebook and twitter)
    • Data Prtection (As a school we may use third party, in-house software applications including Arbor to ensure communications are received by you as soon as possible.  In additin we may use third-party e-learning software application to enable your child to access a more varied curriculum.  T comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 we need your permission to enable access to these applications.
