Extra Curriculum Clubs

Extra-curricular Activities

As part of our drive to make a child’s experience at Newtown fulfilling, we offer a wide range of clubs and activities that take place after the school day.

The majority of our extra curricular clubs are free so that as many children as possible can take part.

Our clubs timetable can be found below. To enquire about places, please call the school office or check your School Ping account for details to book your child's place.

After-School Clubs 2026–2027

At Newtown C of E Primary School we are proud to offer a wide range of exciting after-school clubs that give children the opportunity to develop new skills, make friends and enjoy new experiences beyond the classroom.

Our clubs are led by members of school staff and run from 3.15pm to 4.15pm (unless otherwise stated). Some clubs have limited spaces and are allocated on a first come, first served basis, while others are by invitation only or are externally run paid clubs.

Booking Information

All clubs run from 3.15pm–4.15pm unless otherwise stated. Places are limited and will be allocated via Arbor before the start of each term. Some clubs are invitation only or externally run paid clubs. Clubs may change throughout the year depending on staffing and demand.

Booking a Club

Information about club availability and booking will be sent to parents and carers via Arbor before the start of each term. If a club becomes full, a waiting list may be operated.

Please note that clubs may occasionally change throughout the year depending on staffing and demand. Parents will always be informed of any changes in advance where possible.

We encourage every child to take part in our enrichment programme and enjoy the many opportunities available outside the school day.

In addition, our children access full music tuition from Hampshire Music and the national Rock Steady programme, where our pupils learn to play modern instruments such as the electric guitar, keyboards and drums. Concerts are performed three times per year.

Forces Club

Miss Claridge runs our Forces Club, Dandelion Club. This club is specifically for children from forces families to help build friendships with other service children and offer support whilst having fun.
