Digital leaders at Newtown Primary.
Digital Leaders in our school consist of six pupils from Year 6, 3 from each class. Each week they undertake directed tasks related to ICT, Computing and E-safety. They work with Mr Sadler, our Computing teacher, to make sure our IT infrastructure is working, for children and staff, reporting any issues directly to him.
They help promote and inspire ICT in our school by taking care of the schools IT equipment, Reporting issues, ensuring equipment is put away safely, helping other children, teaching groups of children under supervision and encouraging others to use ICT more effectively.
Our school junior librarians have a responsibility to come to the library and turn the computer on ready for the day ahead. They also put misplaced books back in their places.
The junior librarians will also be trained in areas to help them understand their role further.
We have various voluntary roles during lunchtime:
Dining Hall Monitors
Volunteers play a valuable role by helping the younger children in various ways. They encourage children to eat their lunch, helping others to clear away their plates and supporting the lunchtime supervisors.
The volunteers help lead playtime activities, help support the lunchtime supervisors and provide friendship and reassurance for KS1 children.
Pride In Our Playground
These volunteers help keep the playground tidy, help to set up and out away equipment.
To ensure all children are out on the playground. To provide guidance and a reminder to the younger children on the correct way to exit the playground.
